Tole Painted American Spice Cabinet Circa 1900

Sale price$1,600.00

An impressive and extraordinarily well preserved American Tole painted spice cabinet.  Adorned with a cranes and swans against a pond with gilt leaves, there is a certain Aesthetic Movement element to the imagery.  This cabinet would have taken pride of place on the wall or counter of a general store in the late 19th or early 20th century.  The original porcelain knobs are still in place on all the bins and the rarest of all - the original round bin lids are still present.   Undoubtedly the best example of its kind we have seen. This spice cabinet would make superb statement piece for a kitchen.
